There is a lot of ledge near my house, can I still get a ground source or geothermal heat pump?

A:
The short answer is yes. A geothermal pump can be installed where there is a lot a ledge as long as there is a path of some sort in an around the ledge underground to weave the copper piping.

How efficient is the air conditioning aspect of geothermal heat pumps - it sounds interesting but is it efficient.

A:
Think of a vacuum cleaner that can selectively such out all the air in your house that gets over a certain temperature, say 68 degrees, and replace it with air that is comfortable and cool. That is what your geothermal system can do.
